Hello everyone

Hi ,
How are you? I want to thank you all for being cooperative with those who have substituted in my absence. They have all given me very good reports, I AM SO PROUD OF YOU.
My daughter is home from the hospital ....yea!!!! If all goes well I should be seeing you in one or two days.
Now let's talk shop ....... Some of you still need to complete your Healthcare 21 assignment from Thursday and Friday ( I have checked your scores). There is a new assignment posted for today. Any student that needs to take the CPR test should make arragements with Mrs. White asap. Gather the medical information needed to complete a medical History form ( homework). We will complete a patient's record when I return.

Triage

Seven patients arrive at your emergency care walk-in clinic at the same time with the following complaints. Place them in the order they should be triaged.
1. Jane Smith has burns to her hands and arms from a grease fire while cooking.
2. Ian Miller has fallen off her bike and has what appears to be a broken arm.
3. John Collins was stabbed and has a 2 inch laceration to his right hand.
4. Taylor Jones was hit in the head with an unknown object when he was robbed.
5. Brain Wilson is complaining of difficulty breathing with wheezing.
6. Russ Thomas was shot durning a robbery and has a open wound to his left lower leg.
7. James Curtis is complaining of severe chest pains.

Welcome 2009-2010 Medical Assisting Class

Welcome students,

I'm your instructor for this year Mrs. Michael Rashad. I am excited that each and every one of you will be joining me this year as you learn about the exciting field of medical assisting. This academic school year you will be expected to perform a variety of task that will prepare you for a wide range of duties in physicians' offices, clinics and other health care facilities. As a medical assistant, you will be the link between patients, family members, and the physician. The efficiency of the office begins with you.

My responsibility as your instructor is to ensure you are prepared for the demands of the work force you are going to enter. In this program, you will be challenged in a variety of mediums including testing, hands on evaluations, skills competitions, and community internships. I expect you to be behave in a professional manner at all times. You should be on time and fully prepared for the daily challenges you are going to face. Come to class with a positive attitude and your achievements should be a direct correlation of your efforts!
